Last year, slave traders made $100 billion.
That’s more than Intel, Microsoft, Nike, Google, and Starbucks.
I had the privilege of writing the score for the new feature film TRAFFICKED, including a new song “Fly Away” that is performed by and co-written with Ginny Owens. Human trafficking is an incredibly important human rights issue. Often referred to as a 21st version of slavery, it is pervasive across across the world, including many cities in first world countries.
More information will be posted soon, including links to listen/stream/purchase the score. For more information on the movie and to find screening locations, please visit traffickedmovie.com.
Millions of vulnerable girls worldwide are being ensnared by human traffickers into the insidious world of sex slavery and exploited relentlessly to generate profits of a hundred billion dollars a year. Inspired by real characters from the award winning book ‘Sex Trafficking’ by Siddharth Kara, this is the story of three such girls from America, Nigeria and India. After being trafficked through an elaborate global network of illicit human, organ, and drug trafficking, all three girls end up as sex slaves in a brothel in Texas. Together they attempt to escape their enslavement and reclaim their freedom.
This Saturday, I'm excited to finish the 2nd movement of one of the most gorgeous pieces of impressionism, Claude Debussy's La Mer. Then, a presentation from composer Haim Mazar. I always get inspired from being part of these @ScoringArts events. https://t.co/lGVkoSM3RR
If anyone has ever seen more marketing juice squeezed out of an old, dated, and basic (though wonderful and iconic) drum machine, I'd like to see it. (If you're not in this world, this is at least the 1000th pack of 808 samples marketed commercially.) https://t.co/fstVN8tTtw
