Trafficked

Trafficked

Last year, slave traders made $100 billion.

That’s more than Intel, Microsoft, Nike, Google, and Starbucks.

Combined.

I had the privilege of writing the score for the new feature film TRAFFICKED, including a new song “Fly Away” that is performed by and co-written with Ginny Owens. Human trafficking is an incredibly important human rights issue. Often referred to as a 21st version of slavery, it is pervasive across across the world, including many cities in first world countries.

More information will be posted soon, including links to listen/stream/purchase the score. For more information on the movie and to find screening locations, please visit traffickedmovie.com.

Official Synopsis:

Millions of vulnerable girls worldwide are being ensnared by human traffickers into the insidious world of sex slavery and exploited relentlessly to generate profits of a hundred billion dollars a year. Inspired by real characters from the award winning book ‘Sex Trafficking’ by Siddharth Kara, this is the story of three such girls from America, Nigeria and India. After being trafficked through an elaborate global network of illicit human, organ, and drug trafficking, all three girls end up as sex slaves in a brothel in Texas. Together they attempt to escape their enslavement and reclaim their freedom.

Trailer:

me: oh wow this composer has some real Ivesian mulitiplicity going on, very interesting
me 2 seconds later: oh heh I had two tabs playing audio open

It’s very much still a proof of concept. Perhaps more akin to the Newton that would eventually blossom into the iPhone.
