Better Call Saul-Narcos-Bloodline-Get Down

Better Call Saul, Narcos, Bloodline, The Get Down SFX

In the modern era, the lines between music, sound design, and sound effects can sometimes get increasingly blurred, and I’ve increasingly found that while working on one aspect of a project, it’s necessary to create elements that straddle the fence between the disciplines. I’m proud to have worked on sound design for some amazing shows: Better Call Saul (AMC/Sony), Narcos, Bloodline, and The Get Down (all Netflix).

About the Shows

Better Call Saul: The trials and tribulations of criminal lawyer, Jimmy McGill, in the time leading up to establishing his strip-mall law office in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Narcos: A chronicled look at the criminal exploits of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar, as well as the many other drug kingpins who plagued the country through the years.

Bloodline: A family finds themselves forced to face their past secrets and scars when the black sheep returns home.

The Get Down: A ragtag group of teenagers run wild in the streets of the Bronx in the late 1970s.

I applaud @NI_News for this open community update on their current product line and roadmap for the future. As someone who uses Kontakt on a daily basis, this is really exciting:

Curious to see where this ends up. Desert island selection, and you can only listen to one, and the other doesn’t exist:

Some wonderful moments from @eltonofficial and Bernie Taupin receiving the #GershwinPrize this week. Fantastic performances from @Metallica, @brandicarlile, @charlieputh, @jonimitchell, and more.
