Penthouse Atalaya

Penthouse Atalaya Concept Video

On this Penthouse Atalaya project, I worked with an audio visual studio which produces architectural concept videos. They came to me with a storyboard and screenplay and a sonic idea of what the video required, and after some conversations and some sonic brainstorming, we ended up with this beautiful video that showcases the interior design and architecture of a luxury apartment in Barcelona, Spain.

The music is made up of four different pianos playing contrasting rhythmic patterns against each other, then four different string ensembles doing the same. I borrowed concepts from minimalist composers such as Philip Glass, Steve Reich, and Terry Riley to create this tapestry of layered instruments and rhythms.

I applaud @NI_News for this open community update on their current product line and roadmap for the future. As someone who uses Kontakt on a daily basis, this is really exciting:

Curious to see where this ends up. Desert island selection, and you can only listen to one, and the other doesn’t exist:

Some wonderful moments from @eltonofficial and Bernie Taupin receiving the #GershwinPrize this week. Fantastic performances from @Metallica, @brandicarlile, @charlieputh, @jonimitchell, and more.
